7 day Cultural Program

This program Package is a 100% customizable and runs all year round.

Day 1. Accra

Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport. A representative of African Explorers will meet the group and transfer you to your hotel. An orientation of the program will be given en route or at an optional welcome dinner.

Spend the night stay at hotel in Accra.

Day 2. Accra

You will begin this day with guided tour of the capital city Accra, this will take you to the independence square for photo opportunity atop the Black Star Gate. You will also visit Jamestown also known as old Accra for a guided walk through the town whilst listening to an oral account of the town.

Following lunch, you will visit the Dubois Centre for Pan Africanism, home of the great Pan Africanist W.E.B Dubois. Continue to the Diaspora African Forum (DAF) where you may decide to include a name to the prestigious Sankofa wall.


Day 3. Accra to Elmina

Begin the day by participating in a cooking lesson, where you will learn to make simple Ghanaian meals and snacks. After which you leave Accra for the central region, your first stop will be the Cape Coast Castle, one of the physical remainders of the first Interaction between West Africans and Europeans.

Spend the night at a beach resort in Elmina

Day 4. Elmina

After breakfast, you will participate in a naming ceremony, where you will be given traditional African names by the chief or his representatives. This will be done amidst drumming and dancing.

After lunch, you will have guided tour of the Elmina Castle, another remnant of European and West African first interaction. Also experience a guided walking tour through the Elmina Township seeing the Asafo Shrines and the house built by colonial masters whilst listening to an oral history of the town.

Day 5. Elmina to Kumasi

After breakfast we visit the Kakum National Park to experience a walk across the longest Canopy walk way in West Africa. Then continue the trip Kumasi with a stop over at Assin Manso, where captured slaves were had a last bath in the “Donko Nsuo” before continuing the journey to the Castles and forts in the southern part of the country.

At Garden City of Kumasi you will visit the Manhyia Palace to pay homage to the King of the Ashantis or his representative and visit the Manhyia palace museum.

Spend the night at a hotel in Kumasi.

Day 6. Kumasi

Begin the day by visiting the Kejetia market, West Africa’s largest open air market.

Following lunch, we’ll head to the craft villages of Ntonso and Ahwiaa, known for their exquisite adinkra designs and carvings, respectively. We’ll also stop by Adanwomase, where you can engage with locals and gain hands-on experience with traditional practices such as kente weaving, farming, palm wine tapping and more

Spend the night in Kumasi

Day 7. Kumasi to Accra
